Judgement

JUDGEMENT

The storm is coming
And I patiently wait
Ever the constant shadow
A dark specter I can’t escape

The past like the present
Is alive and always with me
A familiar yet unknown companion
I must face my destiny

Faceless bodies push and pull me
Shaking me to my very core
If I survive this internal battle
Will I be myself any more

Indiscretions, lies and unkind thoughts
I can’t deny my fate
To be loving, compassionate and good hearted
I must cleanse my soul if it’s not too late

I kneel before the creator
Naked and helpless as when I came from the womb
Will mercy be given though not deserved
Or will I be left to rot in an earthly tomb?
