DOWN THE ÆONS

Down the æons evil floods
Flowing like a putrid stream,
Murky half-truths blur in time
And nothing's truly as it seems.

Horrid darkness blots out the sun
Turning midday into the night,
Evil dead things start to stir
All living beings run and hide.

Terrors from the dawn of time
Surviving down the æons,
Traumatising all life forms
Until every hint of hope is gone.

Visions of a horrid yester-time
When grotesqueries ruled the Earth,
Dinosaurs, predators, and omnivores
Circled its entire girth.

Down the æons evil floods
Flooding the world with fear,
Lurching, slinking, hoping fiends
Are slowly drawing ever near.

Essence of the Mesozoic Era
When giant reptiles ruled,
In the ancient tropical heat
Until the Earth finally cooled.

Ghostly phantoms fill the air
From before the dawn of man,
Æon-dead beasts floating high
From before true life began.
