The Flags of My Past

Sarah Rayan 1982 (Kuwait City)

Don't you remind me, why the stars are above, I stopped swimming and started flying, ready for your love, don't you remind me of my every loss, we lived through the slings and arrows of the chaos

Whatever you do, don't you remind me, of the flags of my past, with all seas turning into deserts, and my fears fading fast, I've been crying the seven oceans, trying to find, but only the future promises us peace of mind

Don't you remind me, of an era gone by, I stopped asking what if or could have been, and now hold my head high, and as a matter of fact, you told me you only loved me, when I felt attacked

Whatever you do, don't you remind me, of the flags of my past, you know where to find me, on my way home at last, farewell to the diva of the sea, do you understand, she's ready to walk and feel the warmth of the sand
