In Our Tempting Youth

In tempting youth we dare
Investigate; tease the lion’s lair
And if his paws do mangle,
Bruise

Gamble that our heads we may lose
It’s ours to taste and test it all
Invincible; get up after each fall
So much to see, to smell, experiment
Young revolt, we do not bend
Vibrant, vocal, easy to reject advice
Speak our minds as we arise
We’re dreamers, schemers, not yet burned
Not yet mature, our oats not earned
