It’s Okay To Cry Sometimes

Sometimes, not very often
I cry pearly, salty tears
But not very often
The anguished feeling
The tightening stomach
Recollections
Many are dry painful tears
Accompanied by a silent, grueling moan
So I cry
I miss her
I reproach myself for so much I have not done
The reminder of a missed opportunity
The faux pas or embarrassments
The love stripped into oblivion
So many loving opportunities gone by the wayside
She was a beauty, beautiful!
I cry
And then I joyously cry
Beautiful day, our wedding eve
My first-born son
My awe at Yosemite or the art museum
How thankful, how grand
All mine
So I cry, somewhat rejoiced
I cry
As the years wither
I accept my place in the world
What is – is
I cry at eulogies for friends
This time wet salty tears down my cheek
Love, memories, feelings,
I cry
It’s okay – It’s okay to cry sometimes!
