The Gift

You’re the inspiration, that awakes me late at night,
to take possession of my hand and compels me so to write,

You’re the paint and I’m the canvas,
what you paint is what I show,
This beauty that you’ve made me see,
is no good if it just stays with me,

For how unpleasant is life, if they see no beauty,
Just the cold, dark side instead,
Everyone deserves a friend like you,
stay with me until the end.
