The trigger

THE TRIGGER
In what form appears – this trigger
   materialising-
     As,
      A figure?

A Long, lost memory
  Of a reality;
Or, a…
Mind creation:
  Purely,
     Imaginary?

I probe the depths
  Of my doddering mind,
Trying hard to seek and find,

Some image, or, imprint-
Of those times
  Long gone…
But, not quite for-gotten!

Try as I may,
The concentration fails - to last!
  With no blast
    from the past!

Then!!!

All of a sudden…
   The door creaks open,
To a flood of memories-
  Of a childhood dotted
    With delightful adventures
Adding texture
   To the tapestry of life!

Oh…the fun we had-
  From seaside frolics
    To hill top antics;
Happy, and care free-
   Young and innocent
We dived and delved……

Into the magical escapades
    In a myriad of landscapes!
That paved the way to such welcome breaks
From the oh so dull routines of daily life –
  School and home work!
So glad were we
To escape!

And now looking back
   Relishing the moments we had
With our dear, dear cousins - Dhanam and Retnam
And our dearest friends - the Arasans

Will a time
   ever come?
For us all,
  To once again
     Get together,
       And, stay together
       Forever?
