In The Silence
In The Silence
In the silent of the early morning,
You can hear the voice of nature's dawning.
In the silence of your deep meditation,
You can hear the voice of the holy spirit talking.
In the silence while observing mankind,
You can see what words cannot explain.
In the silence you hear of those disinclined,
While listening to others complain.
In the silence while walking through town
You can see some people disheveled and brown
In the silence as they sit by the wayside
You can see their pain for it cannot hide
In the silence while you look at the scenery
You empathize with a down trodden soul
In the silence as you eat and be merry
Remember those without a penny to plug a hole.
In the silence as we walk amongst nature,
We can see plastic, rubber and paper.
In the silence we can hear the earth crying,
We better stop littering for some creatures are dying.
In the silence we see the benefits of our endeavor,
As we use and recycle old furniture.
In the silence as we change our behaviour,
We'll contribute to our children's future.
In the silence as we pray for wisdom,
Ask the Lord for strength and enlightenment.
In the silence when you think of his kingdom,
Spare a thought for this earthly government.
In the silence when all is finally counted,
And the spoils of earth are reviewed.
On a chariot rejoicing we will be mounted,
Transmogrified and fully renewed.

About this poem
I think about being silent and listening to what you can hear in your environment. One will be very surprised how much one can learn by being silent. "A still tongue keeps a wise head."
