Finding Myself

Finding Myself

April 6, 2021

Like most young men, I was driven to find myself.
Looked beneath my bed, in the attic, high upon a shelf.
Still searching at my age, I wish I knew where to go.
If by chance you have seen me, would you kindly tell me so.

Just recently I thought I caught a glimpse of me,
While searching deep inside a forest, near a hollow tree.
Was this my miracle or something I merely dreamed?
Quietly I moved in closer, but it wasn't what it seemed.

Awakened from my dream, I opened up my eyes.
I was shocked as I looked around only to realize,
My search was clearly over; so please don't get me wrong.
Finding myself was easy; I was right here all along.
