After me

Crimson leaf, shrivels and falls,
Amusing spring, bright in its eyes,
Seeing the wonderful world ahead,
On the verge of death, it's old friend.
Tell me my dear, will you reminisce
The memories of me, or will I
Be that one stipule, once green and lively,
Fading slowly with time.

Teal blue bird, it once was,
To which, even the flowers envied,
Soaring high above, it didn't know the end
To the vast sky, infinite, with many aspirations.
Now lay frail, dismayed, for the world
Is none but cruel to unsightliness.
Look for me, will you? For I,
May not be easy to find, hiding,
The darkness consuming me, the teal blue bird.

The epitome of blissfulness, that amber fish,
Gliding the waters, with a yearning heart,
Waiting, waiting to becharm a star.
The cosmic ocean called him back, but his eyes
Set on the glistening sun, out of reach, though
Something all he desired.
Though he's out now, lost just the same.
Say, would you feel my absence, on those days when
The sun will be there, but not a piece of me.

White, the eternal snow, melting,
In the gleaming sun, recalling, the memories of
Showering its glory, upon the earth, mundane as it was,
As it dissolves, perhaps to never return, into the soil how
It once was, liquid, which travelled the majestic hills,
In search of a destiny, while the sierra beamed.
Am I destined to dissolve, like the snow?
Nothing will be left, but misery, then
For me, would no one grieve? Tell me.

I am not afraid, of death, for it's my venerable ally,
Frightened though I am, of what comes after.
The reflections, will they be passed, of everything I did?
They keep us immortal, our dear stories,
As long as someone, is willing to listen, to embrace them
Like a withered rose, kept with love, of love, for love.
I may desire to be everything but, the crimson leaf, or
The teal blue bird, or that amber fish, or
That eternal snow perhaps. For us humans, grief is
Better, beauteous than that bitter loneliness.
