Ode to Humanity

Humanity, you are so strange.

So lovely, so wonderful, so strange.
You have your downsides, but the ups are somewhat clear
It’s disgusting how much I love you.

You’re problematic, a bruiser, you can be quite the enemy
And your exterior is rough, but you’re stupid enough to be soft.
I love your simple idiocy, you’re wonderful.

Complicated? Yes, I could say you are.
Your loud languages bleat like a goat, in an unflattering way
Yet they kiss my ears, and I seek you out.

Humanity, you’re a know-it-all, you want the answers
When they’re not given to you, you pretend you had them all along
If I were to meet you face-to-face, I’m afraid I’d strike you out of anger
But you’re fragile, and I couldn’t bring myself to anyway.

You are so strange, almost too confusing for my taste.
I admire you, humanity, oh so much.
