Butterflies in December

Beautiful wings so bright and bold, Being yourself despite the cold. Living your life like a new born child, Feeling free…Running wild. Knowing it won’t last for long, No matter how brave, No matter how strong. You’re starting to feel the chill in the air, You know it’s not easy, You know it’s not fair. But you stay in this field searching for that one perfect flower, ‘Cause you know when you find it, You’ll feel the power. Then the sunshine will belong to you, Everything different…Everything new.

About this poem

I wrote this years ago. not sure why. It applies to my life more now than it did back then. Why? Diagnosed with terminal cancer… And yes I did find that “one perfect flower”

Thank you for carrying us into a season of appreciation, warmth and butterflies, Rochelle. Comes to mind a certain gorgeous song by Miss Mariah Carey. ;-)

A very delightful poem about searching for the little things in life !
But realizing you are known in God's garden as His very own !
Keep writing, it is a release from the rigors of life.
