The Essentials Of Faith

The Essentials Of Faith
Author:  Mark V. Markov

To those who preach
That it's ok
To not keep the Commandments of God
Would you say?
That it's ok to bow down to statues,
Jesus still loves you.

Would you say that?
It's ok to have other gods,
Jesus loves you.

Would you say that?
It's ok to murder,
Jesus loves you.

Would you say that?
It's ok to steal,
Jesus loves you.

Would you say that?
It's ok to be a false witness,
Jesus love you.

Would you say that?
It's ok to commit adultery,
Jesus loves you.

Keeping the Commandments of God
Is one of
The essentials of faith
It is a necessity
For a living faith
That pleases God.

Jesus loves us
And that is why
He gives us time
To come to Him and realize
That He wants us to keep the Commandments
When we keep the Commandments of God
We show that we love God
We also show that we know God.

It pleases God
When people out of love and reverence
Out of appreciation of God
Keep His commandments.
Keeping the commandments,
Benefits the person
And brings out
The best qualities.

If a person lives a life
Breaking the commandments of God
Such as "thou shall not murder, thou shall not steal
Thou shall not be a false witness"
That person becomes a criminal in this world.
The question becomes
Why would a christian tell others?
That it's ok, to not keep the commandments of God?
That it's ok, to continue to live a life being a criminal?

When you accept Jesus Christ
Into you life
And become a new creation in Christ
That person should not continue being a criminal anymore.
The word of God
In first Corinthians chapter twelfth
Verses one and two it says
For such were you before practicing wrong, but not anymore.

Keeping the Commandments of God
Is one of,
The essentials of faith.
It is a necessity
For a living faith
That pleases God.

Jesus loves us
And that is why
He gives us time
To come to Him and realize
That He wants us to keep the Commandments
When we keep the Commandments of God
We show that we love God
We also show that we know God.

The Ten Commandments and the second Commandment of Jesus Christ
They are the definition of the first Commandment of Jesus Christ
To love God with all your heart, soul, and mind.
Those that love God with all their heart, soul, and mind
They keep God's Commandments...

1 Corinthians 12:1-3 (ESV)

1 Now concerning spiritual gifts, brothers, I do not want you to be uninformed.

2 You know that when you were pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led.

Exodus 20:6 (ESV)

6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those
who love me and keep my commandments.

Exodus 20:1-17 (ESV)

The Ten Commandments

1 And God spoke all these words, saying,

2 I am the Lord your God,
who brought you out of the land of Egypt,
out of the house of slavery.

3 You shall have no other gods before me.

4 You shall not make for yourself a carved image,
or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above,
or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them,
for I the Lord your God am a jealous God,
visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children
to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,

6 but showing steadfast love to thousands of those
who love me and keep my commandments.

7 You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain,
for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 Six days you shall labor, and do all your work,

10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God.
On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son,
or your daughter, your male servant,
or your female servant, or your livestock,
or the sojourner who is within your gates.

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea,
and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day.
Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

12 Honor your father and your mother,
that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

13 You shall not murder.

14 You shall not commit adultery.

15 You shall not steal.

16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house;
you shall not covet your neighbor's wife,
or his male servant, or his female servant,
or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's.

The last commandment in verse 17 is

You shall not yearn to possess or to have something that belongs to someone else.

Deuteronomy 4:12-13 (ESV)

12 Then the Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire.
You heard the sound of words, but saw no form; there was only a voice.

13 And he declared to you his covenant,
which he commanded you to perform, that is, the Ten Commandments,
and he wrote them on two tablets of stone.

1 John 3:24 (ESV)
Whoever keeps his commandments abides in God, and God in him.
And by this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit whom he has given us.

1 John 5:2 (ESV)
By this we know that we love the children of God,
when we love God and obey his commandments.

1 John 5:3 (ESV)
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments.
And his commandments are not burdensome.

1 John 2:4 (ESV)
Whoever says I know him
but does not keep his commandments is a liar,
and the truth is not in him,

1 John 3:22 (ESV)
and whatever we ask we receive from him,
because we keep his commandments and do what pleases him.

2 John 1:6 (ESV)
And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments;
this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning,
so that you should walk in it.

1 John 2:1-6 (ESV)
1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,
5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him:
6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

Revelation 14:12 (ESV)

Here is a call for the endurance of the saints,
those who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus
