A girl

She’s the life of every party but she thinks she talks too much
And she’s nice to everybody but she eats alone at lunch
She’s always thought she was pretty but now not pretty enough
No one blinks at all the pain “because that girls always been tough”
Her ex best friends look down at their feet, or hide amongst their new crowd
And with the girls they used to laugh at? Oh-they’re laughing with them now.
Her heart breaks as she watches that one sweet boy become
The very same kind of boy he used to protect her from
The boys are the the worst, expecting some kind of prodigy
She can’t fall a victim to his mediocrity
The stress of growing up sends her into anguish
Will she even go to college without taking a third language?
Her schoolwork, her closet, all very neat
But the sight of her ribs reminds her to eat
But not too much!! Skinny, slim thick?
Which woman’s body is trending this week?
She tries to remember as she puts down the fork
Influencers aren’t creditors, everyone’s a little hurt
And Magazines have editors and makeup does the devils work
