HIGHWAY TO NOWHERE

On the highway to nowhere
Only loneliness can prevail,
Nothing beautiful can be seen
Upon your endless travail.

Icy waste turns to red desert
In the twinkling of an eye,
Anorexic beasts crawl along
Awaiting their time to die.

Devil winds turn over trucks
And blind you with red sand,
18-wheelers lie by the kerbs
As you cross an awful dead land.

Mutant cacti fill the plains
For as far as the eye can see,
Evil, sickly, withered things
Which were never meant to be.

Grotesquely formed creatures
Slink near the distant horizon,
Malignant malformed beings
Too foul to gaze on long.

Acid-rain falls all around
As desert gives way to frost,
Nothing worthwhile exists
Soon your will to live is lost.

On the highway to nowhere
You drive on blue-white ice,
Wheels spin, not taking hold
Perhaps you'll die in a thrice.

On this highway to Hell
Only fools would ever drive,
Knowing death is lurking near
And very few ever get out alive.

THE END
