Help Me, Little Sunshine

help me, little sunshine
for I am a frail flower
whose petals don't know how to be sweet
and kind towards other flowers who show me so
that expects me to reciprocate them all
and shames me when I know less of it

help me, little sunshine
for my branches are too thin
and I might be brought by the wind
because of the calamities the world has brought me
that affected my capability in strengthening my hold

help me, little sunshine
for my leaves are quite yellow
thinking I wouldn't need your help in growing
and that I only need myself and the other flowers to grow
have I been told that you were there, I would've danced all year

help me, little sunshine
when the insects don't recognize my pollens
and my heart dies a bit when they favor other flowers the most
forgive me when I compare myself to the ones who have more
than the life of which is bestowed upon me

help me, little sunshine
for I am a frail and sad little flower
However, you can forget all those requests
I just want you, my little sunshine

About this poem

I wrote this when my past forces itself to be in my present but I prevent it to do so in a prayer, if you may think of it as such.
