Poetry

A thought comes to mind
That’s hard to convey
I articulate the words
In a poetic array

I don’t want to sound
Incoherent or boring
I want it profound
Clever and enduring

I play with the words
Arranged into rhymes
Language comes alive
Organized into lines

A poem should speak
With emotion and wit
It should teach and impart
And awaken the spirit

So please read along
As I portray a fresh view
And aerate your mind
With the words I construe
