Beneath My Sleeves (MAJOR TW for self-injury)

Beneath my sleeves,
Red is all you can see
Because my arms are lined with scars.
Fresh new cuts appear each day
So I never show my arms.
I’m hiding secrets
Beneath my sleeves,
Those secrets drawn in red marks
And written by metal objects
That gleam silver in the light.
Beneath my sleeves
Is my lonely and darkened world,
Where all my childhood
Innocence and happiness
Blew away like dust.
Beneath my sleeves
Is a lie,
Where I spend my days
Lying that I’m just cold,
Lying that I’m doing just fine.
Beneath my sleeves,
Hides a girl
Who doesn’t fear death,
But longs and needs it
To gently put her forever to sleep.
