Deafening Noise

Wesley P. Newman 2005 (Mt. Vernon)

It's so loud

Why all the noise?
It would be easier to bear
If what came from the noise was kind

Bit it's not

It's the opposite

They ridicule me,
Belittle me,
And put me down

But why...

Why can I hear their shouts?

When I am the only one

In this silent room.

About this poem

This one is inspired by my experience with self-deprecating thoughts.
