But Why

Why is it so dark?
Why has my vision faded, maybe just a flicker. Could it be punishment or something I shouldn't have seen?
But why?
Why is there no sound, could I hear sound?
Why has my hearing gone silent will it return? Could it be something I shouldn't have heard?
But why?
I'll scream into the darkness perhaps even my echo would comfort gain.
Head thrown back, mouth open wide, yet no sound travels.
Perhaps punishment for something I might have said.
But why?
Why can't I feel the heart in my breast?
Have I passed, is this a punishment for feeling something I shouldn't have felt?
But why?
A fleeting memory begins.
Your site is no longer needed you've seen your true love.
You're hearing is needed no more for you've heard her profess her love.
Your voice too is needed no longer you have tasted happiness.
Your heart will live on forever.
I just never realized forever would be but a few years.
But why?
