Give It To The Suffering

over fences with fencing our woes, with headstorms, rabies in spirit, trying to enjoy where desolation is evident; the stub bleeding, the palm tree bearing witness, the love we’d never see in dreams. outstanding lover, reckless loyalty, surging into redemption; a fuse inside, a sky socket, a cord connected to its arc. so baffled lately, it makes for a sturdy case, I take for granted, pain isn’t easy; a soul made hallow, a nimbus in skies, most needing something durable, standing, defending itself by mere presence. give it to the aggressor. give it to the sacrificed fire. with hitting so charged by cosmic channeling; the love in disguise, never meaning harm, sticking to an honorable code of suffering—planes overhead, fretting made dreary, knees filthy with gravel—crawling with wings, pleading with clarity, sutured, begging freedoms. coming to closure, a life-long jury, some cabinets remain with need—the country winds, MacGyver, Scarecrow—sands in carpet, grounds of coffee on kitchen floors, real anguish looking beautiful. speed dialing the outside, building an answering machine on the inside, listening to intonation. sweeter tasting syrup, nutmeg with cocoa, every experience recorded with tears; tender notation, soul notaries, unrelaxed temperaments; if to adore with pain trickling with each thrust, the balance looking weary; running forever, bold, free, forgetting how it was, such silent acquiescence, such miracles in each meal, to die like winning, to win, feeling foreign inside.
