Is this my father?

Is this my father,  my dearest friend?  The one I can count on until the bitter end.  The one to teach me right from wrong,  the one to laugh when I sing a made up song.   The one I can rely on,  trust more than most, a shoulder to cry on without laughter or boasts.   The one to guide me through thick and thin,  to teach me how to lose,  and definitely how to win.   The one to show me the ways of the world,  explain the differences between boys and girls.   Is this my father,  my dearest friend?  The one supposed to love me until end.   This couldn't be my father,  damn sure ain't no friend.   You told me I wasn't good enough for you,  I  wasn't welcome home again.   So listen carefully because what I say is true,  for my Sons there ain't nothing in the
world I wouldn't do.   I'll teach them right and show them the way,  stand beside them every night and day.   I'll be the man that teaches them trust,  I am the man that I know that they love.
