Innocent Girl Gone Wrong (TW for SA)

What could my parents do when they discovered
Their daughter had been abused by a kid
Only younger than her?
Of course, he’s not the victim here; neither of us were.
We were just innocent children gone wrong.
But now I live with the fear of man,
And it haunts me day and night,
As terror shakes me to my core when someone
Gets too close. PTSD isn’t just for war veterans; it’s
For me, and it consumes my mind daily.
I should have known, I blame myself, thinking of
What I could have done instead. But what could I do anyway?
I was just a girl, not even in her double digits yet. And I was
Threatened. What could I do? I was just a kid.
And now, my thoughts quickly get the best of me
And make me want to die so much.
They say not to trust too easily,
And I wish I would have listened in the first place.
Then maybe my fate could have changed.
But what could I do anyway?
I was just an innocent child gone wrong.
