Angelino

Angelino beats her drums, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat
wood bone messaging on a taut canvas
hollow echoes reverberating in her pattern
forehead perspiring beads, dropping in rhythm
snare, bass, high hat cymbal catching drops of sweat
who does the drum beat for? Angelino beats for thee
reaching out to tomorrow, drumming out yesterday
syncopating rhythm leaving a time loop of only today
an icebound harbor of expansion and contraction
her drumming exposing the cracks, fracturing time
lost in a singularity, caught in a gravitational beat
Angelino beats her drums, rat-a-tat, rat-a-tat
