A Pointless Journey

A one way tunnel runs beneath a mountain
It looks eerie, yet inviting and wild
I drive pass it every morning and nite
No courage to enter, fears grip me tight

I am not afraid of the dark and cold it seems to be
Not afraid on how long a ride this would be for me
I am not afraid of what I might encounter along the way
Not afraid of the any uncertainties the journey may lay

I need to know, what lies for me at the other end
Need to know, what awaits me outside that bend
I need to know, if someone’s gonna be there to take me forward
Need to know, that you will ride by my side there onward

Scared am I to take chances towards anything I desire
Don’t wanna reach the end to ponder on what next to acquire
Don’t wanna look left or right and wonder which way I need to steer
Just wanna move ahead with the one that can await me there

Something did made me step into that tunnel finally
I don’t know where this will lead me eventually
But am on it right now, too late to turn back
The future, scary, remains sadly all black

I think I see light, its getting brighter, now its blinding
Journey filled with desires, possibilities, fact findings
Seems to have, for now, come to its dead end
I keep waiting, with hopes to see you, my friend

The ride, unforgettable in every way, made me alive
My chosen path, now lost and alone I strive
Abundant memories, I shall live to cherish a lot
A pointless journey for me, this surely was not

Mahesh Wadhwani

I always apologize for the length of my text as that’s the best way for me to communicate rather than verbally!! Not a man of many words but still manage to doodle when in mood to write, which is rare!! I am not even sure if what I scribble is poetry or even what form or just words that rhyme!! To me writing is an art, a sign of creativity and a means of expression. I don't really think that anyone can just write without any feelings, without having felt, without having lived, experienced or cherished. Whatever one writes, there is some amount of a persons own feelings and presence or of those around them, indicated in the works. So I am thankful to all the people in my life and those yet to come for having given me life, love, happiness and even pain. At-least I have had the opportunity to feel it , live it and express it, whatever it maybe. Cheers! more…
