Comprehension

Too much time it would take,
To explain the meaning...
Of comprehension.
With a knowing,
One's tolerated patience...
Would be a wasted attempt.
Lost to lose,
Trying to convince another...
How they should use common sense.

And too much time it would take,
Explaining the significance...
Of common sense if another has none.
Yet...
Kept to prioritize,
Are schools and colleges they attended.
Degrees they were given not to earn.
With a resume they show to display,
How they sat in positions to sit.
To have been given a title,
And influence too.
As proof they had been successful,
Charading to imitate...
A competence to discover was faked!

'And...
Your point to make,
Is what?'

'Today?
There are more scholars,
With degrees and certificates.
Declaring to be intelligent.
And quick to quote,
From books they have read.
But seem lost for words,
In a World that does not exist...
On delusion to fiction,
The difference between truth...
Deception.
Or common sense to realize,
A way of life to fantasize...
Has yet proven,
To advance the quality of it!'

'Well...
At least I do have credentials.
And frame degrees,
Exhibited on my living room walls.
Proving my status to have obtained.'

'That's great.
Now...
Your mission in life,
Is to accomplish what?
Besides pretensions?
And that you have in abundance.
But who really benefits,
From your lack of common sense?'

'Your comments I find,
Not only appalling but offensive!'

'Don't worry yourself about it.
My investments made,
Have been primarily in observation.
And the dividends I have received so far?
Zero!
No threat do I present to your way of life.
I've been accused of being realist!'

'Oh.
I am so sorry.
I apologize.'

'It's okay.'

'I mean that sincerely.
I had no idea you suffered like that.
Here.
Take my business card.
I may know someone who could use you.'

'Use me?'

'Well...
That depends on your preference.
Would you rather be a security guard?
Or a doorman?'
