Lit By A Torch

Free verse
You lit a fire
Starved it of timber
The light slowly flickered out
I fought the dark
And lit a torch
A peaceful amber glow
Seeped into the cracks of my heart
A swan led me out
Into an evergreen forest
I walk for miles
Through the smell of pine needles
I'll welcome the sunset
For my heart no longer fears-
A black sky lit by the moon
