Bandaged By Words

Casey LaMora 1994 (Newport)

How long can a heart crack?
Does it ever stop?
It seems endless to me-
That I keep breaking my own heart
Little pieces of me lost-
with every break
Words bandage my broken heart
Each time my pen strokes the page
I pick up the shattered pieces
I'll write a million novels
If that's what it takes
To piece my heart back together

I'm still picking up the pieces, some lost to time.
    May never heal completely,
For the love that was once mine
Every day anew as the years fly by.
Lost is the love, the love that was once mine. -ZW
