Silence

Silence;
A form of respect,
A way to speak unspoken words.
I wept internally
As I, myself, could not show weakness.
They laughed at her as she walked in.
Abandoning the reason why they were there in the first place.
A past story for another day.

Could not let it go.
Even if just for a day.
They glared at her like she did not belong where she was meant to be.
They hurt her,
In more ways than one;
All the while she was already suffocating.

Silence.
If only they had paid attention.
The man in this casket.
A dear brother.
A beloved son.

Their gossip was heard from all corners of the room.
And I know,
This wasn't what we came here for.
Mother of mine just remember,
Silence will be the best revenge.
For him we must.
The man in this casket.
My eldest brother.
Your distant son.
For that was why we were there in the first place....
