I am the Way ....

I am the way, truth and the life’ you said,
Well, the ‘Way’ you have shown is paved with the
broken pieces of my children’s hopes and dreams ,
And the ‘Truth’ is, there is no truth in the promises
that you made,
or that were made in Your name.
The ‘Life’ you have shown is made from the darkest
recesses of vileness and depravity.
Yet still my child clings desperately to you,
Like a lifebuoy in tempestuous waters
In hope that you will heal his pain.
The same way I deny you, for permitting his pain
Still, would that I could negotiate with you,
And take his pain as mine.
the irony is ,
the very reason I deny you
May be the same that sustains him.
