DICK THE DUMPSTER TRUCK

Ray Eden 1959 (Hackney)

DICK THE DUMPSTER TRUCK

If you need something moving
You may well be in luck
Just call four-seven, three-six-eight
For Dick the dumpster truck

He may not be all shiny
But he's as cheap as chips
And he's great at taking all your trash
Down to the rubbish tip

Big stuff, old stuff, small stuff
There's room on board for all
He even took a statue there
And that was eight feet tall

If you've cleared out your garden
And have big bags of waste
He'll take the lot from your small plot
And do it all post-haste

Old Dick's a well kept secret
By people in the know
And when they're needing something moved
They know just where to go

He'll take all your scrap metal
Your hardcore and old tat
He'll make sure it's recycled
And all his fees are flat

He comes when you've arranged it
He will not turn up late
He really loves his customers
And thinks they shouldn't wait

So if you've got a thingummy
And with it you've been stuck
Just call four-seven, three-six-eight
For Dick the dumpster truck!

About this poem

It's one of my silly 'kids' poems, that are aimed at the kid in every adult.
