Just Because You Paint It (With A Different Color)

Just Because You Paint It (With A Different Color)
Author: Mark V. Markov

If someone works hard
Makes money
Buys a luxury car
Registers it
In his or hers name

Than someone else comes along
Steals it
Paints it
With a different color
And tells everyone that it's his or hers

Just because you paint it
With a different color
Doesn't mean
That it's yours

It's the same way with a poem.
Someone uses his talent and skill
To write a beautiful poem
About God, love, and life
Makes it very special

Than someone else comes along
Steals it
Translates it
Into another language
And than says
That it's his or hers.

Just because you paint it
With a different color
Doesn't mean
That it's yours

Just because you translated it
Into another language
From another language
Doesn't mean you are the author of that poem.
You are a thief!
Just like the other thief
Who stole someone else's car
And painted it with a different color.

Some of my poetry
Was physically stolen from me
While I lived in Hawaii
By a Japanese Hawaiian
Along with my personal id documents
He always tries
To pretend to be me.

Some people steal
Everything I write online in the English language
In the United States and other countries
They translate it into another language
And make sure
That I am not very known.

While they wait
To claim it,
To claim it all later
With the other language.

And on top of it all
When I express my frustration
They change what I write
To make it look,
That they are saying it to me
Through my own poetry.

What I write in the English language
Flows beautifully
Into the Romance Languages
And into some other ones.
So beautifully
That at times it makes one think
That I wrote everything
In one of the Romance languages.
Yet the majority of the poems
Were originally written
In the English language.

Yes my full name is Mark Vladimir Markov
But I always use an initial V.
Since the word Vladimir
Even though derived from
Swedish name Valdemar and
Germanic name Waldimir
Is not that very popular
In the English speaking countries.

I had to disclose
And I wanna make sure
That no one else
With the same name and last name
But with a different initial behind the initial V.
Would claim to be me
Or that anyone would claim
That it was an alias name...

The Old Norse form Valdamarr (also Valdarr) occurs in the Guðrúnarkviða II as the name of a king of the Danes. The Old Norse form is also used in Heimskringla, in the story of Harald Hardrada, as the name of a ruler of Holmgard (Veliky Novgorod), in this case as a translation of the Slavic name Volodimer. The Fagrskinna kings' sagas also have Valdamarr as the translation of Slavic Volodimer/Vladimir, in reference to both Vladimir the Great and Vladimir Yaroslavovich. The German form was introduced to Scandinavia as Valdemar in the 12th century, with king Valdemar I of Denmark.
