Tick Tock

Kevin Anderson 1965 (Ill)

I met her along time ago
She wasn't for me and I said to her no
I don't own a clock,  therefore,  I had no time
Tick tock on your way,  I will not chime

I seen her with another hanging on the wall
She looked the same but different; I asked her to call
I sat by the phone,  day in and day out
She's going to call,  I have no doubt

My clock is not working because her call never came
Tick tock tick tock,  she must have forgotten my name
My new clock,  I showed her,  it had the days of the week
She said,  the long hand and the short hand for us will never meet

Had I taken the time a long time ago
Our hands would have came together every hour or so
We'd be on time,  she'd ring and I'd chime
Too bad,  I didn't have a clock or the time

From ghetto fabulous to military standards with customs and courtesies. The Path taken in life from the United States of America to far and distant lands has indubitably exposed me bare. The adventure has made the person; the man. Born in Illinois, raised in East St. Louis and Royal Lakes, from there the fam hightailed it to California. Dallied in Inglewood then Bompton or Compton, some do say. Signed my name on the dotted line bringing the world into full view. I joined the United States Air Force in 1986, fully retired in 2016, 30 years of honorable service and of making life do what it does so I can do what I do when I do what I do communicating my thoughts or a few. more…
