As We Pray
Yeshiembet/Yeshi Gemaneh 1940 (Harar)
As we pray, we pray for everyone close or in a distance
For a better tomorrow, for a bright sunshine
To make this world to be a better place for all
What good would it make to hear everywhere crying?
There are many with low voices, their tears running
as streams of river
There are many aged and fragile
Who are begging for your kindness?
There are many who are asking why?
There are small children treasure of tomorrow
Who love to grow with bright future?
They are at your disposal to be on the safe way
All have no place to go, no meadow to run
No mountain to climb, no umbrella to shelter
Can you make-up your mind
To join one another in prayer
For wisdom and melody of peace
In faithless and selfish world
We strive to touch the hem
Of God’s garment to hear us
As We Pray
