NOT A TYPEWRITER.

They burn my pages
seeing that I write about swords and daggers in hands of women.
women, not caged, not muffled.
women.

They say, write about love and rosey perfume if you have to.
I refuse, I can't smell it.
The ink in my veins second it.

I will let the inked pages burn,
the ones I gave birth to with agony, screams and tears.
but I shall not stop
After all I am a writer,
not a typewriter.

About this poem

This poem is about the struggles of women and how they have overcome all the barriers that were put before them. it shows how women have been doing what they were told to, quietly, without complaints but not anymore.
