Autumn

Hanging from a massive tree
Waiting for my destined doom
Watching the slight drizzle
Making a way for the next bloom

Dark clouds, why do you threaten me?
I know you are all bark no bite
You have no power after those ten weeks
I can withstand every ounce of your might

I am slowly growing older now
Turning into this bright red
Like the setting sun on the horizon
Is it my time to go to bed?

Oh! That was a soft drop
Onto the dehydrated loam
Shielded by my fellow mates
From the ground, not the sole

The flowers who took my place
Should I look at them with envy?
I know that these are part of the cycle
But is falling my responsibility?

However, the winter approaches
and my journey is completed
There is no point in getting upset
As this process will be repeated
