The DAO of Zero
Zero is like DAO
Empty yet full
Full in its emptiness
A balance to all numbers.
The art of numbers
Holding ancient mysteries
Elegant in formation.
Zero is profound
Element of all numbers
Rounded or unrounded
Ordinate or inordinate.
Seemingly nothing
Elegantly everything
The Math Container.
Zero is like DAO
Empty yet full
Full in its emptiness
A balance to all numbers.
About this poem
The Nonary (Base 9) has nine digits: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Once attaining 9, the nonary, or base 9, starts back at 0 (zero), but consecutively adds 1 on the left, so and and so forth, to infinity , which can never be attained. The nonary, or original numbers zero to nine, are the basis of all numbers and complex mathematics, without which humanity and civilizations at large would not have been able to evolve as Homo Sapiens and achieve the progress that has been made. Yet, without zero (0), the numbers one to nine could not have been made manifest, emerging as they have, like all numbers, positive or negative, from magical zero (0), which houses all numbers. Zero is that magical number which, when multiplied by any other number, reduces that number to its own self, thus revealing itself to be the source of all appearances. Zero, which appears as Nothingness, is the initial state of all numbers, and of all things visible and invisible. Zero (0) is therefore the All. As the DAO of numbers, it is the beginning and the ending, the alpha and the omega, the Ultimate Absolute, containing space and contained in space and time. Magical zero is the all-encompassing number of the set of numbers. This five-stanza poem, entitled “The DAO of Zero” or “Magical Zero,” is composed in the form of an acrostic, which reads “THE ZERO SET” encapsulated by a beginning stanza and an identical closing stanza. more »
