Toxic Love

Everything about you is toxic, the way you move, the way you speak, how you play victim gets to me. The words I love you don't mean a thang to me, you are the dirt that doesn't want to leave from under my feet. Your thoughts are how you feel, but the love you portray to have is far from being real. you are manipulative, and not true to yourself, so how can you be honest with anyone else. How can you love me when you don't love yourself, you're like a can of beans that is outdated on a shelf. staying around to torture me, aggravated me because there is nowhere for you to go, not even your own family wants to deal with you no more.  It's time for me to close this chapter in my life, I no longer want to hold the title of your wife. I want to be free, be the person I am meant to be, not care for an adult that has no good intentions for me. If you love me as you say you do, you will let me go and do what you have to do. Stand on your own and depend on me no more, you're not built for marriage you meant to stay alone. Marriage is a two-way street, not about one person making sacrifices to make sure we eat.

About this poem

a marriage that is falling apart when one is ready to call it quits, but the one that is holding on is the one who doesn't want to let go.
