sunrise

when we stayed over night after the bonfire

we stayed up until sunrise,

your friends were asleep in the backseat of your car

as was the rest of the city

except a few insomniacs,

and as the pink, purple and yellows

came over the ocean

I had never wanted to kiss someone more,

you didn’t know that though
