for you i’d always wait

leilani rose carter 2002 (grass valley)

and for you i’d always wait
but not in that way
i will still live
my life each and everyday
but if the time ever comes
when you want someone’s love
to sing you to sleep
to listen to sweet hums
come find me
and we can resume from where
we started from
i’ll caress your cheek
plant a kiss on your forehead
though you have a mean streak
it’s something i can always
forgive and forget
and no i don’t regret
meeting you
you’ll always be special to me
through and through
to me you’ll always be that person
and you might ask why
but there is no why
and there is no how
it’s just who you are to me now
o kay?
