Eyes are glassy
Dizzy and confused
Clammy palms
Lethargic and bruised

Mind is a mess
Thoughts disconnected
Heart’s in distress
I fear it’s infected

I’ve tried avoidance
Keeping a safe distance
Only to be drawn in
I’m paying a penance

Sight and sound curse me
Mental acuteness fails
Please give me a prescription
To cure all of my ails
