Love's call

love's call goes unanswered
carried away on ephemeral wings
with the breeze of time
If love's great fall leaves me ashen and hurt
for the mark of true love
 has no reason or rhyme
just that hollow nook within
now filled with someone to believe in
I would run to it
break myself with it body and all
If nothing else but to have known its worth

love's song will not go begging
It dusts itself off and begins anew
without true love
we turn to rust
within it, the best of us have learned to trust
