Nothing Has Changed

I thought things were going to be different.
I prayed, I dreamed.
I engulfed myself in the image of us together
That I was all you wanted, all you needed.

But nothing has changed.
You don't want me around.
You just want someone who humors your desire;
And I'm the only one too stupid to ask for anything more

Sometimes I wish I had never met you.
I'm naive to think things could have been different.
Did you ever like me?
Or was I the only one available.

I don't want to keep doing this.
I don't want to see you.
You've changed.
Or maybe I just never really knew you.

I really thought I did;
But I was caught in the daydream;
That you wanted to love me;
But love is only a word;

But I love you.
So goodbye.
Perhaps one day,
but perhaps maybe not.
