Skateboarding Relationships

Have you ever had that person in your life, that you like more than a friend?
That whenever you’re with them, hanging out, much time you always spend.

Your worlds combine and before you know it, you’ll become something brand new.
Then in an instant it can all be gone, and tough times you’ll be going through.

I’ve known you for a while now, but I never really gave you a chance.
Now with intent and some genuine effort, we’ve struck a new romance.

For a while, we took it slow, as I learned my newfound balance.
Now because of you, I search within and gained my newfound talents.

You support me under my feet, as the wheels below you roll around.
Then I had the idea, to jump the stairs, and you broke when we hit the ground.

I hit the floor, and you hit it too. This was something both of us were now going through.
My new found love, my sense of being. This pain around me, is all I keep seeing.

My world seems to be crashing, all coming to an end.
Not only did I lose my love, I also lost my best friend.

Dark, quiet, alone, I now walk the streets.
The sound of wheels, rolling in my head, constantly repeats.

Flashbacks to before the stairs, when things were all just right.
Everything was going smoothly, until the day we got into that fight.

On that day you broke, and I knew immediately things would never be the same.
I could tell by all the subtle things, like the way you said my name.

Lonely I must continue on, working on myself as I go on my way.
Step by step I move myself, knowing tomorrow will be a better day.

Time goes on and I remember to myself, how it felt with the world rolling under my feet.
Chin up and a positive attitude, soon there will be another skateboard that I will meet.
