She is bi-polar disorder

You hate her but you become her everyday, Say she's not Real but you know she's there in every way, She takes up your soul and devours all your happy thoughts, The depression makes you ugly when you know that you're not, She's there when you stare cautiously into that mirror, That's why you can't bare to see the Reflection any clearer, She never really seems to actually stay away, So you stay shy and hidden deep inside everyday, If they say even one word it doesn't really matter, She's there in a hurry to take up all the laughter, I wish I could really control her in some way, The medication merely keeps her idling at bay, It will all be fine one day and then you will all see, That girl in deep down in the dark isn't really me, alone I'll take back control cause this life is solely mine, Set my foot firmly to the ground she will fade slowly out of my mind!

About this poem

I wrote this poem because I was diagnosed with this and I lived it for so long, but read deeper into it and it shows you that the disorder was in my head and any person can overcome without dependency on substance or others!!
