Calm

Erick Arvizu 1980 (Williamsburg, VA)

The sight of her brings me peace
Her eyes the beacon home
Whenever I feel lost
Her voice calms me with its tone

The laugh she gives is magical
I love to elicit the very sound
She has the sweetest smile
When she moves it is profound

Whenever I’m weary from madness
Surrounded by the stresses of life
She comes in without a word
Her mere presence calming the strife

I can’t help but feel the calm
A lake smoothed to stillness
There are so many reasons to love her
It brings a smile when I think of this

She is the very definition of goodness
A Goddess in her own right
The love and tenderness she exudes
Is the warmest and brightest light

To say that I love her is my truth
How could I not of fallen?
She breathes life into my world
With my feet above my head, I’m all in
