YOU SEE ME

You see me.
Beyond the silly mistakes,
The outward expressions of the voices in my head,
You get me.
Like a little girl longing for her father's love,
You hold me, you see me.

A role model you are,
A best friend you have come to be,
A lover, but it is not just my body you desire...
It's my mental health, my general well-being...
You take bits and bits of my insecurities,
make me see how they are my strengths.

The bible says God made us perfect But every second with you,
I feel more and more perfected.
I dread your absence like a kid afraid of the dark,

Like a lamb in the presence of a lion,
I feel like I should be your prey
Gullible... A nympho...
You don't need to sweet talk me, boy, you know I'll let you get a taste of it anyway...
But like a loyal servant, you wait on me...
Listening to the rants,
Like a photographer, you capture all my awkwardness and reflect the edited version of me
Like a Sensei, you teach, instruct, guiding me to be the me you know I can be,
The me you see.

And after many frogs,
Feels like I'm in the presence of my prince Charming,
Pauper like me, can I fit into the role of a princess, your princess ?
I'm no Cinderella... Flawed, broken and helpless...
Without a fairy godmother, not sure if I'll pull this off
But you see me...
And for now, I guess that is all matters That you see me... All of me.
