That Kiss

As I looked out yon window pane
while window spotted with the rain
I saw someone I once knew
with hair so brown and eyes so blue
and of a love that was never to be
yet there she was but never seen
Twas my mind playing tricks on me
oh my soul how it torments my memory
Why an old man would remember this
of a fifty five year old kiss
or is it just the past caught up to see
the love of an old memory
It was not the girl her name is gone
But her kiss will live on
but only in my faded memory
and only for my mind to see
