Epiphany of A Struggle

I look at myself in the mirror and am proud of what I see,

I am not letting negativity get a hold of me;

Sometimes I feel down,

Other times I feel glad;

I just have to realize that it is up to me whether I feel angry or sad,

Life is never easy;

Life is full of valleys, mountains, and hills,

To live a decent life you must have bills;

It doesn't matter if you have a little or a lot,

You must follow your bliss;

Just make sure to stay in that spot,

People say that you can't follow your dreams;

Well everything is impossible,

Until it is not!

About this poem

This is a poem I wrote after struggling in my senior year of college. I was reading Will Smith's memoir and he mentioned Joseph Campbell. After watching the documentary, "The Power of Myth." I was inspired to write this poem after struggling in my chosen career in college. I realized I was just being too hard on myself in my daily life.
