Eye Candy

Has it ever happened to you?
Just a second's all it took,
The rush you felt, somehow, someway,
That bred that second look?
Eye contact you're now holding,
With someone you've never met,
If only time could freeze this moment,
But it isn't finished yet.
Because the feelings, they assault you,
Ain't it weird how feelings flow?
Don't know a thing about that person,
But you're feeling you do though.
You look away, wearing a smile,
That somehow grew onto your face,
And though you try inside you can't deny,
You'd love to have a taste.
The thoughts now running through your mind,
Oh what to say, oh what to do?
Indeed, the how's and why's, the buts, if I's,
All getting to you too.
For sure, 'Eye Candy' is a trip,
And all of us have had a taste,
It's what you do that later dictates,
Worth the while, or just a waste?

About this poem

Do you know what it's like? That one look and unjustifiably so, you feel like; Man! They would be perfect! Have you been there?
